NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES ADVERSE EFFECT

 

Six Historic-Age Properties located in the Communities of Middletown and Elkhart, Logan County, Illinois

 

CG Pike Creek LLC is proposing the construction of thirty-four (34) wind turbines, associated access roads, underground connection lines, a substation, an electrical generation intertie line, and other appurtenant facilities in an area encompassing approximately 6.6 miles east/west and 6.3 miles north/south in Logan County, Illinois (Project). Refer to the attached map depicting the proposed Project Location.

 

In accordance with the Illinois State Agency Historic Resources Preservation Act (20 ILCS 3420) and its implementing rules (17 IAC 4180) (Act), the Illinois State Historic Preservation Office determined the Project will have an adverse visual effect on six (6) historic-age properties that are listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The NRHP-eligible resources include the properties located at:

 

  • 1037 300th Ave., Middletown

  • 3034 300th Ave., Middletown

  • 900th St. (approximately 0.94-mile east of 275th Ave., Middletown)

  • 733 200th Ave., Elkhart

  • 750 200th Ave., Elkhart

  • 238 700th St., Elkhart

 

In order to resolve these adverse effects pursuant to the Act, CG Pike Creek LLC is seeking public input as potential mitigation options are developed to offset adverse effects to these resources. Any person or group wishing to submit comments regarding the adverse effects to the historic properties may do so in writing by June 19, 2025.
